Course NotesNight-O

There are four Night-O courses:
A BEGINNER course, which will be the same as the yellow course on Sunday.

A INTERMEDIATE course, which will be the will be the same as the orange course on Sunday.

An ADVANCED-SHORT course, which will be the same as the brown course on Sunday.

An ADVANCED-LONG course, which will be the same as the red course on Sunday.

This way, if you participate in both events, you can run the equivalent course and directly compare the times. You might be quite surprised how differently you navigate a route at night event compared to the same route during the day.

As always, be very careful of using the vegetation as a navigation aid. Even though the map is only a year old it has changed quite a lot. And as for all courses at this time of year, trails can be hard to discern when covered in leaves - especially at night!

  • You may become a member at the event or by joining online via this webpage (which also explains the member benefits). Membership is completely optional.

Individuals or groups without their own epunch pay a higher entry fee (see above), which includes the loan of an epunch for that event. Loaned epunches that are lost incur a $40 replacement fee. Epunches (also known as SI-cards or finger sticks) are usually available for sale at each event as described here.
