Welcome to CVOC

QOC is pleased to welcome Central Virginia Orienteering Club, OUSA's newest Associate Club, to the neighborhood and wishes them a successful first event subsequent to obtaining their club charter on January 21st (see here) and many more thereafter as orienteering grows in the Richmond area.

QOC wins Mid-Atlantics

Official results are in - QOC won the Mid-Atlantic Championships hosted by DVOA on November 20th, with 148 points for QOC to 98 points for DVOA. Thanks to all the QOC members who showed up far from home to make that possible (with some help from a slightly lower turnout from DVOA than they typically muster when they host the event) including one-time QOC president and long-time QOC member Kris Beecroft (pictured, talking to Peggy Dickison), who came on her own all the way from her current abode in New Jersey.

Stumble Results

Many QOC members have our friends at Susquehanna Valley Orienteering to thank for a fine time at the apparently not unlucky 13th Susquehanna Stumble held at Elk Neck State Park this past Sunday. Notable QOC results include first and second in the long Stumble for Brian Mayer and Jon Torrance, Valerie Meyer and Heidi Onkst part of a three way tie for first female in the short Stumble, and Greg Lennon, Tom Nolan, Sam Listwak and Tom Wells taking second, third, fourth and sixth place among males in the short Stumble.

QOC at the relay championships

Congratulations to team "All Scratched Up" consisting of QOC members Valerie Meyer, Kathleen and Greg Lennon, and Nadim Ahmed, who won the 12 point team category at the US Relay Championships in Missouri this past Sunday. Photo courtesy of RMOC's John Crowther.
