MTBO World Championships underway

OUSA has, for the first time, sent a team of three women to the MTBO World Championships this year. The competition began on August 20th with the long distance qualification, in which one member of the US team qualified for the final. Sprint and middle distance qualification and the finals are still to come. You can follow the action at the competition web site and the US team specifically at the US team blog.

WOC begins

The World Orienteering Championships are underway in Lausanne, Switzerland, kicking off today with the sprint qualifications and finals. Ali Crocker (pictured, courtesy of Eddie Bergeron) qualified third in her heat and ended up 20th in the final - an excellent result! Competition continues tomorrow with long distance qualification and on Monday with middle distance qualification. Eddie, our neighbor from SVO, is slated to be in action in both of those so be sure to look in on the US team blog to see how he and his teammates are faring.
