Special thanks go to Dasa Merkova and Lucie Kosatova, who improvised and took excellent care of the registration when their director got into unexpected trouble. Dasa managed the set-up, organized parking, and gave advice to several groups of beginners during the day. Timothy McCormick helped with parking and setup, and also placed the signs and collected them after the race.
The course designer was Mihai Sirbu, who selflessly worked in quite inhospitable conditions and prepared good courses. Many runners were reminded the hard way that green on the map sometimes means really green, but they still enjoyed the experience.
Our great e-punch team, Valerie Meyer and Amy Louden, got a capable young helper, Alexis Merka.
We had 164 starts (52 groups) and only 8 DNF/MP.
At 3 pm, all participants were back and the control pick-up could begin. The dedicated team included Jens Wira, Ted Good, David Levine, Michal Jarnik, Alexis Merka, Lucie Kosatova, Tom Wells, and Jan Merka. Several other people also offered their help.
I am afraid I am forgetting some helpers. Actually, all participants deserve thanks, because it is the positive attitude and friendly atmosphere that makes QOC events so successful!
