MTB Map Boards

Good map boards are very useful to adventure racers, MTB orienteers, and even riders on long excursions in the backcountry. The board used by the US Mountain Bike Orienteering Team is now available for sale through Orienteering USA's website.

Fountainhead, Hemlock Overlook & Oregon Ridge Embargoed

QOC's bid to host an A-meet this November 14-16, including the 2014 Night Orienteering Championships, and, Ultralong Championships, has been approved by Orienteering USA.

Oregon Ridge Park (MD), Hemlock Overlook Regional Park (VA) and Fountainhead Regional Park (VA) are now embargoed in accordance with OUSA Competition rules.

To be specific, this means the following:

No organised orienteering of any kind may take place in the embargoed areas until after the A-meet.
No training sessions, i.e. running/races, testing route choices etc. are allowed in these areas.

Due to the winter storm predictions, the park manager at Patuxent River Park has asked us to cancel the orienteering event we were planning to hold there Sunday Dec. 8. We will be rescheduling this event, most likely to a date in early Spring.
