Have Leave To Donate?

Federal Employees - A Leave Donation program has been approved to help QOC member Scott Pleban and his family. As many of you know, Scott remains severely incapacitated as a result of a car/bike accident earlier this year. Through the Leave Donation program, any federal employee may donate unused leave to Scott.

To be able to donate leave, all you have to do is:

Be a federal government employee

Brian Mayer wins US Rogaine Champs

Congratulations to QOC and Team SOG member Brian Mayer on winning the US Rogaine Championships just held in upstate New York. An account of the race from Brian and his teammate, Justin Bakken of Team GearJunkie/Wedali can be read here.

Orienteering Book Published

QOC members Chuck Ferguson and Bob Turbyfill's new book, Discovering Orienteering: Skills, Techniques, and Activities, developed in conjunction with OUSA, can now be ordered online in hard copy and e-book versions. If interested, check it out here.

Scott Pleban at World Champs

QOC member Scott Pleban will be competing this week at the World Ski-O Championships in Kazakhstan (that's him on the left with the rest of the US team, photo courtesy of Eddie Bergeron). The competition starts with the sprint on Tuesday and ends on Sunday with the long distance event. There are a number of places online at which you could follow the competition but probably the best one at which to keep track of US team doings is US team member Alex Jospe's blog.
