Mid-Atlantic Champs
December 3
Sunday
The 2017 Mid-Atlantic Championships will be hosted by DVOA. Information about the event is here: https://dvoa.org/events/sked/index.php.
Sign-Up Now! The Mid-Atlantic Champs pit QOC against neighboring clubs DVOA and SVO, and all QOC members are encouraged to come help us defend the title! The club with the highest number of points overall, based on numerology involving placement in each classic course + participation + team relay results, wins the Broken Compass Award. This year the event will be hosted by DVOA at Fair Hill NRMA (near Elkton MD). Details of the event and courses have been posted at the link above. Relays, consisting of 3 person teams, will start ~2pm.
Relay Runners: Please email Jon Torrance ASAP (just click on his name) a note including your name, gender, age and usual course (yellow? red? etc) if you'd like to have fun as a relay runner AND let him know if you are getting to the event by means other than the bus - thanks!
Ride The QOC Bus! For the convenience of club members, to get there we will once again charter a large bus, complete with WiFi, reclining seats and a restroom. This is a fun and relaxing way to get to this event and we highly encourage you to sign up before 5pm Saturday (12/2) using the form below. There will be a nominal cost just like in the past; full details here. We will be basing the meet up spots in Virginia and Maryland based on convenience to riders, but you can anticipate leaving between 7:00am - 8:30am (depending on where you join the bus) and returning by 5:00pm - 6:30pm.
The key thing is to be there, whether you get there on your own, in a carpool, or on the bus. This is a fun day full of orienteering and we'd like you to be there!
