QOC Medalists from US Classic Champs

Running amidst beautiful fall colors and on a very challenging new map, QOC members brought back 9 medals from last weekend's Classic Champs orienteering competition, hosted by EMPO. The terrain bore little resemblance to any of our local venues; it featured highly complex contour and rock detail, quite indistinct trails, many marsh/reentrant drainages, and yet was often surprisingly fast and runnable. A touch of Scandinavia right in upstate New York!

Based on combined times from the Saturday and Sunday courses for their age classes, congratulations are very much due to the following QOC medalists:

M14, 3rd: Chris Salentine
M16, 2nd: Anthony Leger
M18, 3rd: James Hemenway
M35, 3rd: Jan Merka
F40, 2nd: Dasa Merkova
F45, 2nd: Kathleen Lennon
M65, 3rd: Don Davis
F70, 2nd: Marit Davis
M75, 3rd: Fred Hillmann

And a special mention goes to F50 1st place winner - and local core member - Peggy Dickison, who's loyalty to her former club (OK) keeps her off a list of QOC winners but didn't stop her from wearing her QOC jersey!
